Transition Derby

Here is another inspirational story about the “Power of One” or in other words how one person can make a difference… this time it is about a young lady called Lillian Sum of Belper…. Ten days ago on Saturday evening Transition Derby had a talk from Lillian Sum, who has a most inspirational story from a young lady, whose parents live in Belper, of the Environmental work that she is doing in Bodhgaya www.sacredearthtrust.org , one of the largest states in northern India on the borders with the Himalayas. I had never heard of the place but she has a very simple Social Enterprise Model.. work six months in the year in and around Derbyshire earning money that will fund the next 6 months in Bodhgaya. During her time their she has involved businesses, hotels, schools, local council’s, communities and monasteries working on Sustainable Waste Management systems, Youth Training Projects, Water Management Systems and Village Women projects.
