Clothes Swap Success - Westfield, Eat your Heart Out!

We had a great turn out of people to the Mackworth Clothes Swap held in February. 29 people attended and all seem to go home with a great deal more than they came with. Thanks to everyone that helped to prepare for it and to those who supported on the day.

Clothes Swap

Each item was exchanged for a raffle ticket and the raffle tickets became the currency for the swaps With at least ten racks full of clothes to choose from it was a real treat – you could have anything you wanted providing you had a ticket gained for each item you brought yourself. The raffle tickets counted, indicated that in excess of 50 swaps took place. At the end everyone was invited to take home what they wanted – after all we want it to be re-cycled. Anything left was given to the local neighbourhood charity, National Children’s Homes. It was a neighbourhood-promoted event aimed at people who could walk from their home. It was a chance to chat to neighbours about Peak Oil and the future and find out who our neighbours were. Some people chose to use the time to have a sit down and do nothing (luxury!) while watching Transition Films. Tea and coffee was freely available We have raffle tickets, some rails and publicity ideas should you want to hold one in your neighbourhood
