Get Cutting and Start Sewing

Transition Derby & Derby LETS invites you to..

“Get cutting and start sewing” …What would you like to do?

Following on from Mig Holder’s very interesting talk on how she recycles clothes into some useful and creative objects last November, we are having a “Get cutting – start sewing” practical workshop. With oil prices now around $100 a barrel, and clothing prices rising and likely to rise further in 2012, how can we reuse perfectly good clothing. There will be two themes, so come along and find out:

  • 5.30 pm start for those who want ideas to give old garments a new lease of life – remodel, redesign, shortening, repairing hole, new zip,
  • 6.30 pm for those who want to make something completely new with recycled fabric – shopping bag, clothes peg holder, shoe bag, etc.

Saturday February 25th

refreshments from 5.30pm at Quaker Friends Meeting House, St Helen’s Street, Derby (next to Radio Derby) For more information see www.transitionderby.org.uk
