good turnout, great event!

After the turbine event and curry outing I was inspired to write up the website section on 'community', it was great having people all working together like that, never mind there was no wind! There were about twenty people, half standing around chatting under the gazebo (it was beginning to rain), the other half checking out the turbine and equipment. There were two missing screws for connecting cables, never mind though the thing went up anyway since there was no wind! It took nine people to lift the turbine, four on the guys, three lifting the tower, and two to fit the tail on as it went up (heave!), a true communal effort.. So thar she was, lifted! hand carved blades, welded mount of second hand metal, resin/fibreglass moulded alternator and a huge tail jutting from the back.
